MEXICO CITY — A Mexican tourist who is known for his frequent flier miles to Walt Disney World in Florida to watch fireworks during the holidays was vacationing in Mexico City this weekend to see his family.
Alvaro holds a Guinness World Record for traveling the furthest distance from Disney World to Mexico City by a single flight, and he made the trip on Saturday after he had a visit to the resort.
The trip took him about 12 hours to complete.
The record is believed to be more than 10,000 miles (16,000 kilometers) since the start of the 20th century, and it is considered one of the most difficult feats to break.
The Guinness World Records book does not have a record for a flight from Disneyland to Mexico.
“It’s really beautiful and I’m very excited about it,” Alvaros wife, Maria, said.
The couple’s trip to the Disney theme park coincided with the opening of a new attraction in Mexico called “The Magical Christmas of Mexico,” which is based on Disney’s classic “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town.”
The resort’s theme park is a popular stop for holiday travelers from all over the world.
Alvares wife and son were able to get to the area during a trip last year to the Disneyland park, which was a popular destination for tourists.
Alberto, a professional actor who has been a director, was one of many actors who attended the new show.
He said he would like to see Mexico on the map.
“I want to go to the places I grew up, to Mexico and see how people live here,” Alberto said.
